A serious land dispute unfolded in Chunchura Kapasdanga after allegations surfaced that Kala Chand Pal, also known as Kalu, was constructing a shop on land reportedly owned by Alpana Saha and businessman Abhijit Biswas. The property in question is located near GT Road, in Ward No. 8 of Chunchura Municipality. According to local sources, the landowners had previously raised concerns over the illegal occupation attempt but were unable to stop the construction on their property.
The situation escalated when Abhijit Biswas informed the MLA of Chunchura, Asit Majumdar, about the ongoing issue. Following this, the MLA directed Ward Councillor Nirmal Chakraborty to investigate the matter. The MLA also arrived on-site to oversee the situation personally. However, tensions heightened when supporters of the councillor allegedly attacked Kalu, damaging his glasses during the confrontation.
As the situation spiraled out of control, MLA Asit Majumdar called for police intervention. When the police arrived, the accused reportedly pushed the officers and fled the scene. In the aftermath, Kalu's son-in-law was arrested by the police, further intensifying the dispute. Local authorities are now looking into the matter as the investigation continues.
